The Church of Saint Mathias the Apostle is a 16th-century colonial temple typical of early Spanish construction in central Mexico. Its architecture features:
Thick stone walls characteristic of early Franciscan and Dominican constructions.
A simple yet elegant façade, reflecting the modest rural mission style of the period.
A traditional single-nave interior, designed for community gatherings and liturgical functions.
A bell tower that rises above the main plaza, serving historically as both a spiritual and civic landmark.
